Burundi Coffee

Burundian coffee is a relative rarity as the country occupies only a small niche in the global coffee market. Sitting in central Africa in the Great Rift Valley, the population is rooted in agriculture and coffee is a key cash crop for the local farmers. Because of climatic conditions and a somewhat shaky supply chain, Burundian coffee crops can be easily affected by local conditions - so don't be surprised if you can't find coffee from Burundi on the shelves. When it is available however, Burundian coffee is renowned for it's exotic characteristic - which tend almost to the floral.
