Guatemala Coffee

Steamy Guatemala produces growing conditions that enable the country's coffee planters to grow beans with a rich, chocolatey flavour that is almost toffee like in its sweetness. It's the genuine taste of Central America and Guatemalan coffees are worth a detour from the usual coffees. Unusually, the coffee growing tradition in the country began quite late and was brought about by a wave of German settlers in the 19th century. As such, some of the more traditional plantation methods seen elsewhere in the region are less apparent, but the resulting coffee is of a very high standard and taste.
